the four pillars

of my approach

Positive Psychology

Cultivate positive emotions: joy, wonder, flow, contentment, curiosity and enthusiasm Enhance optimism, hope, resilience. See and appreciate one's own and others' strengths of character, such as humour, love of knowledge, empathy, problem solving

Compassion-based therapy

Developing compassion towards oneself, an attitude of benevolent acceptance, appreciation and encouragement towards oneself and others helps to reduce excessively self-critical internal dialogue and counteract anxiety and depression.

Radical acceptance

Acceptance, as understood in this context, is not a nihilistic attitude of renunciation; it is not "enduring" passively. It's a vital and conscious contact with your own experience, opening up to painful emotions, and letting them "flow" through you, without avoiding or fighting them. Make yourself available to hear them.

Negative, catastrophic, hypercritical thoughts are seen as a normal phenomenon, a product of the hypertrophied mind, an internal dialogue with which we must not identify, merge with them; therefore they are not to be opposed by trying to control them through brooding or avoidance, but after having accepted them they are to be observed without judgement, detaching oneself from them.

have a compassionate gaze on oneself and others

    distance yourself from the mind

Action committed to values

• clarify your personal values and the meaning of life

• act with commitment and vitality towards the chosen values

• be resilient, courageous
